unasnm’s nec sets march 15 2018 as date for AGM, two potential host nursing schools being considered

The term of any national executive committee (nec) of the unasnm, an association for Uganda’s student nurses and midwives, is 12months from the swearing-in date of that executive. The current executive was sworn-in at a february 2017 agm held at Kampala University. And at that gathering, Mr Kanyankole Frank became the association’s president for the year 2017/18. The next executive would have to be voted-in february 2018. It’s with that in mind that a meeting of the nec was planned to sit 1st february (see article). It didn’t sit. The meeting was rescheduled for february 5th.

The february 5th meeting has agreed 15 march will be fine for an AGM of the association’s member nursing and midwifery schools. The extended date for the agm is largely attributed to financial challenges that the association’s leadership has been grappling with from when it took office. (See article) And each school would each be required to send 15 members. In the past such delegates have been in the company of their respective branch presidents.

The host institution hasn’t yet been selected. However, two schools within the central region are being considered.
