Uganda National Association of Student Nurses and Midwives (UNASNM) is a body that unites all student nurses and midwives in Uganda. UNASNM was started in 1987 with the primary objective of improving the academic performance of the students offering nursing and midwifery courses in various institutions in Uganda.
The body is a registered with the ministry of internal affairs as a non-government organization with the registration No. 2730.
Aims and Objectives
To improve and promote on the professional knowledge, skills and attitudes among student nurses and midwives in Uganda
To foster and promote unity and encourage good relationship among members of the association
To advocate for students rights and prepare students meet challenges in life
To undertake activities that may deem necessary to the organs of the association
To develop leadership, administration and skills among members
To network and collaborate professionally with national and international organizations like Uganda nurses and midwives union (UNMU), Uganda nurses and midwives examination board (UNMEB), Uganda national students association (UNSA), business technical vocational education and training (BTVET)
To promote mutual relationship among students, schools, hospital authorities, medical staffs and patients.
To promote, initiate, and carry out health care activities/services between students and the communities
