The Health ministry has issued a directive that all persons entering the country must possess a yellow fever vaccination card following the re- emergence of the disease in the region.
According to the health ministry spokesperson, Rukia Nakamatte, the directive is part of a World Health Organisation recommendation to curb the spread of the disease.
So far six people have died in the Democratic Republic of Congo and another in Kenya since the outbreak on 6th March. Kenya’s Ministry of Health has issued a similar warning.
The World Health Organization raised a red flag on 42 countries worldwide.
